I am happy to announce that we just released Dataedo 9.0 with a cool long-awaited feature - support for MongoDB. This paves a new path for Dataedo: support for NoSQL/Document/Semi-Structured/Big Data/Data Lake data (there are many names for this) . Let's have a closer look.
MongoDB and the NoSQL
Dataedo 9 supports data in MongoDB - it loads collections and then scans documents and reads schema validation to discover document schema in each collection. So instead of looking at long JSON documents like below and trying to figure out their structure:
You can build a convenient Data Dictionary for your entire MongoDB database in minutes. You can then describe data elements and their relationships:
And even visualize data model on an Entity-Relationship Diagram. That’s right, the thing from those (Yeah)SQL databases…
Teradata and Vertica
We also added native support to Teradata and Vertica Analytics Platform, enterprise data warehouse platforms. Together with our current capabilities, they make a sizeable gallery of cloud and on premises data warehouse platform connectors: Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Azure Data Warehouse/Azure Synapse Analytics, DB2 and Oracle, …
We are currently also working on a Google BigQuery connector.

Future data sources
We are planning to be adding new connectors. Currently we are working on connectors for Apache Cassandra, Google BigQuery, SSAS/Azure AS – Multidimensional model, Neo4J, Elasticsearch and ability to add to the catalog CSV, JSON and XML files.

Pro price increase
Oh, and to reflect how awesome our product is and get price more in line with the value it provides we are increasing the price of Pro plan by about 50% soon. But don't worry if you are a customer! We are not raising the price for you!
